IGERT Cohort #2 arrived in safely in Kangerlussuaq last night and spent the day figuring out logistics for our trip up to Summit Camp tomorrow. In the afternoon we had the chance to get out and stretch our legs, and we went for a walk around Lake Ferguson.
This is the landscape that we will revisit next week, and where we plan to conduct the majority of our ecological research. As such, it was interesting to start getting a feel for an ecosystem that we have only read about in journals and books. Many differences were immediately apparent in both the terrestrial and aquatic environments we saw compared to the temperate ecosystems we left back in Hanover.
